Album “Sofia from Space”

An educational album “Sofia from Space” with authors Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Stefan Stamenov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanya Stamenova from Space Research and Technology Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (SRTI-BAS) were issued in 2018. Contributors to the album are also scientists from NAIM-BAS – Corr. Mem. Vassil Nikolov, Dr. Andrey Aladzhov, Dr. Mario Ivanov, Snezhana Goryanova, and the organizations DigitalGlobe Foundation, ESRI Bulgaria Ltd., GIS-Sofia Ltd., Sofia municipal urban planning institute “Sofproect-OGP”, EUROSENSE EOOD, and GAF AG. The album is bilingual – in Bulgarian and in English and it is designed to help Bulgarian education and to popularize the Earth observation, Sofia city and the cultural and historical heritage. It is distributed free of charge only for educational purposes and it is intended primarily for students and teachers.

The album is only in digital format and due to its large size (3.2 GB), the distribution is by e-mail request at space.schoolbg@yahoo.com, or e-mails of the authors of the album: stamenovstefan@yahoo.bg and vanya_stamenova@yahoo.com.
